CHAPTER 11

CASSIDY

I’m holding what’s left of my dignity together as Leif guides me back to his suite. His wide gait makes it impossible to keep up with him while I desperately try to hold my shirt and coat together with one hand. If my heart makes it back to his room in one piece, it’ll be a miracle with how fast it’s running away with itself.

The niggling thoughts from the situation in the park have been drowned out by the endless anticipation of what’s about to happen. It’s burning my skin, trailing the ghost of Leif’s touch, the echoes of his words thrumming in my ears.

Leif’s hand closes around mine as we turn the corner to the alcove of his doorway, and he tugs me in front of him. His front is pressed to my back when he sandwiches me against the door while he ravages my neck with gruff kisses. The assault on my senses is relentless as his hand closes around the length of my hair and tugs my face to the side.

My vision is a blur of colour and shadow and Leif.

I’m completely engulfed by him as he guides my hand to my bare skin, trailing it to my chest, where he uses it to knead my breast. The leftover chill causes me to shiver deeper into him at the same time as he licks my neck up to my mouth. With a sudden sharp yank of my hair, he spears his tongue inside me, silencing the surprised cry that launches from deep inside from the ferocity of his kiss.

All the air is sucked from my lungs by his groan when he pulls away to open the door.

“Can’t wait to fuck this mouth,” he tells me with a grind of his groin against my arse.

I’m not that into head, but the mental picture he conjures makes my mouth water. I bet he tastes as good as he smells—spicy earth with a sweet hint of grape bubblegum tinging his hot breaths. The same sweetness that is lingering on my tongue as he coils his arm around my waist and lifts me off my shaky feet before walking us straight to the bathroom.

Placing me back on my feet in front of the large walk-in shower, his stare meets mine in the dark tinted glass. For a split second, my chest hurts with the pang of realisation that we don’t have long together, and there is still so much I don’t know about him.

Gripping the collars of my shirt and coat together in each hand, he tugs them down over my shoulders before focusing on his own jacket, jumper, and T-shirt. The sudden brush of cold air over my naked skin sends a pulse of longing through me, as well as an overwhelming desire to be touched all over by him.

As if he can read my mind, Leif presses his hot chest against my back again. The strength of it seeps deep into my bones, holding me up with wanton eagerness while he unbuttons my jeans and then shimmies them over my hips.
